This is a Chinese ceremonial wine vessel, also known as a "Jue".

Jue would be used to ceremonially serve warm rice wine during ancestor worship ceremonies, especially during the Shang dynasty (1600 to 1046 bc). This is a newly made  reproduction made of copper.

The designs with mythical creatures on the side are know as "Taotie". 

 

Measures 8.5" tall and 5.5" wide.
