Tibetan jewelry is characteristically large, usually featuring bright colorful gemstones especially turquoise, coral and amber.

Southeast Asian tribal jewelry

The jewelry of Southeast Asia is considerably unique. Drawing from influence of the tribal cultures present in the hills in the Northern regions of Southeast Asia (often known as “hill tribes”) Southeast Asian and other Asian jewelry usually features rather dramatic tribal influences. Large breastplate pieces, coiled silver and mystical creatures such as dragons, phoenixes and forest spirits are present in many pieces of Southeast Asian Tribal jewelry.

Traditional Aztec jewelry has influenced many aspects of what is now commonly known as “Southwestern Jewelry”. Large and dramatic, southwestern jewelry is most famous for its use of turquoise. Turquoise exists in large quantities in Northern Mexico and the Southeast United States and has been used by the Aztecs in jewelry for thousands of years.
